Will your metabolism slow if you only eat food/drinks with no calories?

I’ve heard that the reason starving yourself doesnt work on a diet is because your metabolism slows. But if you only eat foods with no calories, which has the same effect of eating nothing but you actually get the satisfaction of eating, will your metabolism still slow down?

    Your metabolism slows BECAUSE you’re not getting enough calories so yes, sticking to no calorie food would still slow it. It’s not slowing because you’re not putting food in your mouth but cos you aren’t getting the correct amount of energy that it needs to function. X

    Yes. Your body will go into starvation mode, in which it thinks it is being starved (which basically, it is). So, in order to sustain itself, it holds on to every piece of food you do eat. Thus, you will be more likely to gain weight and your metabolism will slow down. You are much better off taking it slow and eating a healthy, balanced diet. And exercising at least 3 times a week.

    Umm.. YEAHH…….
    You need calories to survive. Not only will your metabolism slow, but after a while, you can get really sick and possibly die.

    you end up loosing important muscle and have calcium loss if you get nothing but empty calorie foods. Your metabolism will slow down, but you also will lose energy and get sick easier and end up gaining weight when you start eating calories food that are good for you, i know i tried the starvation route. put it all back on. felt weak tired and like crap. Eat small meals a day eat dark chocolate about 1/4 cup of a cup worth to help keep fat off your belly. or black or green olives a 1/4 of a cup.stay away from all sodas and limit coffee to one cup a day. You can make your self deprived of of vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy. and make you malnurished.

    Yes your metabolism will slow because it’s not about the satisfation, it’s about no calories which you need to create energy for your metabolism to work.
